BIG BROWN TRUCK! BIG BROWN TRUCK!

Excellent post! Great writing. I can so totally relate to this, as I'm sure others can too. I recommend submitting that question to QotD. I'm recommending this post for the TIG.

And thanks for mentioning me and my beloved Playmobil toys. I never got Barbie products via Big Brown Truck, but I did get crafting and yarn kits as presents from the BBT.
I agree, the anticipation and excitement on waiting and yearning for that truck to come down your street and personally hand you your present -- I mean packages -- is akin to how a child felt waiting with baited breath as Christmas day grew nearer and nearer, the excitement almost too much to handle... I miss the Big Brown Truck. It's not the same when FedEx and other mail carriers drop off packages. It has to come from that familiar brown vehicle.
What hell hath I brought forth by brining my cyber-pen down upon cyber-paper?
i guess i was deprived as a child. the big brown truck never came by with any deliveries for me. which is probably why i'm addicted to online shopping for myself now. :)

playmobil kicks ass.

Me neither. My parents never ordered anything for delivery. If you couldn't buy it at Sears or JCPenney, we didn't get it.

I get excited any time a box comes for me now. :P

Heh. The best thing I've gotten lately was Guitar Hero. Man, was I ever happy when that showed up!

Best thing that I wasn't obsessively tracking online was flowers for my birthday from a friend that was unexpected. That rocked.

Oh yeah, I like the big brown truck (and the driver too!). He brings me my business supplies.

guitar hero kicks ass a well.

Oh Yeah, I love the big brown truck, my best present, was waiting for an Ipod from my dear friend Victor!!! I was as excited as a kid!!!
Thanks for stopping by! :D

This just popped in my head -- I guess to squelch the dirty jokes I so want to make -- do you get the same driver for each delivery? We used to at our old house -- one of my father's friends -- but rarely ever at our current residence.

Congratulations, my Love, on making the [Life Is Good] showcase on the home/Explore/Life pages!

I took a screenshot. I'm so proud of you! This is a great post. **kisses**

"If you couldn't buy it at Sears or JCPenney..."

Same here. The big brown truck for me was heading to the Sears catalog pick-up area. Loved that, though. Always got so excited when the Sears guy would emerge from the back with my item.

Congrats on the [tig] nod, too. :)

Care packages! When I used to attend summer camp in a beautiful Virginia valley, that brown truck would come rumbling and grumbling in on a gravelly road, leaving a trail of dust in its wake. We'd all run around excited that the UPS man was there!

To this day, I still adore receiving packages, even boring ones, like mail that my MIL sends. At least she covers the package with cool stamps. :)
